Italian pasta with walnuts
- 300 g wholemeal spaghetti
- olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 4 slices of white bread, with crusts removed, crumbled
- 250 ml whipping cream
- 125 g blue cheese, in pieces
- 50 g walnuts chopped
Boil the pasta until it is al dente
Heat a generous dash of olive oil in a wok, and sauté the garlic in this.
Add the breadcrumbs and fry until crispy.
Remove the crumbs from the wok and keep separate.
Warm the whipping cream in the wok, adding the blue cheese and allowing this to melt. Stir well with a whisk.
Let the sauce reduce for a couple of minutes until it is a little thicker.
Add the drained pasta to the sauce, mix well and allow to warm through for 1 minute.
Serve the pasta onto the plates and sprinkle with walnuts.
Serve the pasta with a mixed salad.
