- 50 g butter / margarine
- 50 g pure chocolate made of 70% cacao
- 1 egg
- 50 g fine caster sugar
- 30 g flour
- pinch of salt
- 40 g unsalted pecan nuts, roughly chopped
- rind of 1 orange
Preheat the oven at 200˚C. Melt the butter and chocolate in a bain-marie. Let it cool slightly.
Beat the egg and the sugar in a fat-free bowl until fluffy. Stir in the chocolate and butter.
With a spatula, mix in the flour, salt, pecan nuts and the orange rind.
Put the mixture into a rectangular baking tin that is lined with baking paper.
Bake the brownies for approx. 30 min. in the preheated oven, so that they are still slightly moist inside.
Let them cool completely, then slice into squares.
Serve the brownies with unsweetened and lightly whipped cream, adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream if so desired.
